Just like almost every other attribute, it is difficult…

Just like almost every other attribute, it is difficult or impossible to have an absolute of no entitlement or no privilege in every situation. I definitely carry with me a certain sense of entitlement and privilege with United airlines or with shallots. The question is did you earn that entitlement or privilege. The other question is do you use that entitlement and privilege to abuse or put down other people. If you earn the privilege and if you do not use your position to put down other people I do not have a major problem with entitlement and privilege. It is the people that act entitled and privileged and don't give back to society or don't earn that entitlement and privilege that create problems for themselves and for others. The reason that this creates a problem for others is that inevitably anytime there is a sense of entitlement or privilege it costs somebody. If it costs somebody and that person does not get a commensurate reward, then it creates frictions within society. All this talk about the privileged few would not exist in my opinion if privilege and entitlement was used in a reasonably fair way. An example would be if someone came to me to ask for charity and that person has the ability to go to work, that person is taking advantage of his sense of entitlement to charity which would make me feel jealous that I have to work for my money while that person does not.
