There are so many hobbies and things that I would like to learn that there is no way in the world that I can ever get to them. On my bucket list I had items like learning how to understand art or music. Over the last few years I have just decided to enjoy the art and the music that I enjoy rather than to analyze and try to derive enjoyment from art or music that I do not fully understand. I used to play the piano. I do speak Yiddish and a little bit of Hebrew. I allocate time to everybody which is one of my biggest problems. I need to be able to say no more I do try to learn with any of the grandchildren that want to learn with me and I study various subjects with them most of my grandchildren call me every Friday to wish me a good shabbos. Some of them do not. But I would say that I average talking to my grandchildren of older age about once a week.

In the book

I never graduated elementary school, and my father liked to say that from the day he stopped homeschooling me I started going downhill — and he was probably right. I tell you this so you understand that everything I know, I had to learn the long way, by reading and by paying attention, and that I am still at it: I study with any grandchild who wants to learn with me, and many of you call me every Friday. There is one more reason learning matters more for you than it ever did for me. […] I built it the only way it can be built — by refusing to stop learning, one book and one conversation and one mistake at a time. And I am still building it now, studying with whichever of you will sit and learn with me. So here is what I ask of you. — Expanding Your Range (Growth/Change/Education/Learning/Habit)
