I want to set a model of balance

Page 183 I want to set a model of balance. Emotional, physical, spiritual, and intellectual balance. I want them to know that the journey of life includes both pain and joy, work and play. Each one teaches you about the other. They all keep a life, healthy and productive. When I'm feeling balanced, no matter what I'm doing, I can't think of anything else I'd rather do. When I'm not in balanced, everything becomes a chore, another job to get done, another day to get through. Balance is necessary, and everything in life. I see it in myself after I've been with my kids for a week and I'm on the way home from the town where their mother lives. I miss them so much it hurts, but I wouldn't feel the pain if I hadn't on the joy of being with them .

In the book

Take this as bedrock: you are responsible for your own happiness — not your circumstances, not the people around you, you. A whole life holds pain and joy, work and play, and each teaches you how to taste the other; I have tried to live that in front of you, not just say it. And call the people you love on a Friday, the way so many of you call me — it is a small thing that turns out to be most of everything. — Enjoy the Flight (Living/Balance/Happiness/Passion)
