Page 221 I absolutely agree. Appalling things happen. None of us may be exempt from what seem to be crushing circumstances, or events that are out of our control. Without the gifts of integrity and responsibility, however, we would become victims of almost any circumstance by giving away our power, by always blaming someone or something else. although I consider integrity and responsibility to be two separate gifts, essential for my children to have, they always seem to be inseparable. When you accept personal responsibility, it seems only natural that integrity flows outward to encompass the world and its inhabitants as well. With the gifts of responsibility, our children learn to take charge of their own lives. With the gift of integrity, they learn to help others work through circumstances they face .
