Pg 67 Living systems are another matter. If I kick a dog, I could calculate the force and momentum of my foot and work out exactly how far the dog should travel in a particular direction, given its size and weight. The reality would be different, if I were to be foolish enough to kick a dog, it might turn around and fight my leg. The dogs final resting place is very unlikely to be anything to do with newtons laws of motion.
