The approval of a new constitution is a ritual…
The approval of a new constitution is a ritual step, and as such it should be treated as something out of the ordinary, something special. Here are some ways that we have seen families make their constitution ratification a special event: Start the event with a brief story from the family history. Start with reflective silence or prayer. Start with reading a meaningful poem. Have all family members sign a version of the constitution printed on vellum. Video the signing. Hang the signed vellum in the home of the youngest member of the family council (that way it will move over the life of the family, always residing with the rising generation).
