The family charter sets the direction for the family within the family council. One of the big distinctions it makes is between the "business of the family" as opposed to the "business of the business." If we ever have to ask at a meeting if a topic is something we should be talking about or just the business of the business, somebody will say, "Wait a minute. I think we're almost crossing the line here." We can always get clarification if we need it.
