With the explosion of artificial intelligence happening to us…
With the explosion of artificial intelligence happening to us today, where does that leave us as human beings? Can artificial intelligence take over the whole world? Yes it probably can. But I'm sure that people will try to put in safeguards, and hopefully they will succeed. But it does not do us any good to sit and speculate what AI will be able to do or not be able to do from our vantage point. It becomes more important to recognize that we as humans are different than AI and have a different intelligence than AI. And the skills that we received from God should be utilized to excel in all of the areas of being human with humanistic feelings. If you're thinking about going into a career, what will you be able to do that an AI robot will not be able to do. Remember that AI is a bot that searches through billions and billions of words on the internet to create its own speech. So anything that has been written can have been read by this AI but. However, if you create an original voice or an original statement, that is something that AI will not be able to replicate. AI is or does not have the trait of creativity to take unique themes and craft something of your own. Do your best to be an individual and to stand out as a creative unique person as God intended us to be. That also means being unpredictable. And most of all it means having empathy for another human being. AI does not have feelings and at this point cannot have feelings. God gave us feelings to teach and guide us within ourselves and with our relationships. And the best thing that he gave us regarding feelings is empathy which is the ability to understand that somebody is feeling bad or good, pain or pleasure, etc empathy is also something that can be learned by observing and really trying to feel who the other person is and what they're all about and what is going on in their lives. It is about understanding the other person's perspective. Whenever you interact with another person you should try to understand where they are coming from and where they are trying to go. That is the most useful tool to enable you to get to where you want to go. I cannot begin to tell you the number of deals that people could not make with certain business people that I was able to make just by being empathetic, listening to what they had to say, and listening to what they really wanted. Instead of focusing on what I was trying to do, I listened to what they wanted, and was then able to give them what they want while still getting everything that I wanted. That is one of the foundations of my success. Another sense that AI does not have is called situational awareness. When you walk into a room and you watch how everybody interacts and how conversations flow and how people act, you develop a sensitivity that is not always conscious of how to proceed. Before I walk into a room I or as I walk into the room I always scan the room to see what's going on, where are the people at where they open space is at, where the power players are where the nice people are where everybody is situated and what is the mood of the room. When I walk into a restaurant, I look around and I see our people enjoying themselves or are they not. Are they loud or are they quiet. I use all of these factors when I am trying to determine the ambiance in a room that allows me to control myself within the room. AI does not have that either.

In the book
Let me be concrete, because this is where I lived. I cannot tell you the number of deals other people could not close that I closed simply by being empathetic — by listening to what the other person actually wanted, instead of broadcasting what I wanted, and then finding a way to give them what they needed while still getting what I needed. Call it soft if you like; it was the most useful tool I ever owned. […] Here is the answer: a machine can read every word ever written, but it does not have feelings, and at least for now it cannot have them. God gave you feelings to guide you within yourself and in your relationships, and the best of them is empathy. Your emotions are also what connect you to your own authentic self and let you feel intimately bound to other people — cut yourself off from them and you fall into loneliness, because the bridge to others is built out of empathy. […] The second is empathy. In an age of machines that can out-calculate you in a heartbeat, your feelings are not a liability — they are the last thing that is truly yours. The ability to feel another person, to understand what they are carrying and to actually care, is the most human gift you have and the most useful one I ever owned. — The Heart in the Cockpit (Emotion/Awe/Anxiety/Regret/Empathy)
And I learned how to be with people from my parents, who taught me honesty, common decency, and generosity toward others above almost everything else. The most useful skill I ever carried into a room full of people was empathy — listening for what the other person actually wanted, and finding a way to give it to them while still getting what I needed. So this is the inheritance I most want to pass on: be the kind of person others can like, trust, and respect; tend your friendships like an account you never let run dry; choose your circle with great care, because you become the company you keep; and keep expanding the ring of people you count as your own. — Friends, Community & Society (Relationships/Community/Society)
That is not a soft skill. I cannot begin to count the number of deals I closed that others could not, simply because I listened to what the person across the table really wanted, and found a way to give it to them while getting everything I wanted too. I want to hand you two things in this chapter. — Leadership & Business (Leadership/Business)
