When you start working on something you become connected to it. The more you work on something the more connected that you become to it. The more you will feel loss if you lose it, and the more pleasure you will get from having it. When you are working on good things and or working on mitzvous, you have the ability to use this connection to connect directly to God. Remember, hashem is here asham is there hashem is truly everywhere. That means that he is always around us. When we think about him we connect ourselves to him automatically without any effort. It's just a matter of awareness. Do not let things get you down. If they do, just take a break. But all of those things that get you down have the ability, when you overcome them to raise you to a higher level.
