In the book
I have written you little about your relationship with God, only because I never counted myself the expert there; but if you keep nothing else of mine on the matter, keep the verse — in all your ways, know Him. There are three ways to come by this kind of wisdom, the old teaching says — by reflection, which is noblest; by imitation, which is easiest; and by experience, which is bitterest. I have used all three, and I would spare you the bitterest where I can. — Legacy / The Logbook (Legacy/Epilogue)
