Growing up and describing that in a couple of paragraphs as all of this is very difficult. How do you take multiple years of growing and condense it into a paragraph or a page or chapters. The time frame of years and years of growing up and the multitude of experiences that you experience as part of the growing up are so vast that it is impossible to give justice to that. I grew up living on the third floor in a nursing home. I remember my mother always asking us to help feed the residents in the nursing home. When residents used to walk away and get lost, my mother used to send me out to find them. So a large part of my life was led in this way surrounded by older people. Some of these older people were able to communicate very well, and some of these older people had various degrees of incapacitation. I remember one polio victim by the name of Anne Klein who was relatively young and however put into a wheelchair because of her polio and she could not move or take care of herself. Her mind was perfectly sharp. I used to be able to have conversations with her, although I do not remember any of those conversations. Most of the other residents were more self-involved and needed a different type of care and we're not able to communicate their needs very well. I had very few friends because I was homeschooled and did not go to a regular school. There were no other Jewish kids in the area that I could play with. So I very much lacked in playtime, and I believe that this had a significant impact on future things of my life. My parents were very strict with me in terms of rules and in terms of what I could and could not do. My father was the one that was more strict than my mother. My mother was very busy taking care of the residents and the staff in the nursing home.
