fortitude emotional fortitude comes from self-discovery and self mastery
Keyword emotional fortitude emotional fortitude comes from self-discovery and self mastery. It is the foundation of people skills. Emotional fortitude consists of four qualities. The first is authenticity which means that your outer person is the same as your inner person not a mask you put on. Who you are is the same as what you do and say. Only authenticity builds trust. The second quality is self-awareness. You need to know yourself and this is the core of authenticity. When you know yourself you're comfortable with your strengths and not paralyzed by your shortcomings. You know you're blockages and your blindsides and you know how to deal with them. You know how to learn for your mistakes as well as successes and it enables you to keep growing. The next quality is self-mastery. When you know yourself you can master yourself. You can keep your ego in check, take responsibility for your behavior adapt to change, and adhere to standards of integrity. Self mastery is the key to self-confidence. The last quality is humility. The more you can contain your ego the more realistic you are about your problems. You learn how to listen and admit that you don't know all the answers. Your pride doesn't get in the way of getting the information you need to get the best results, doesn't keep you from sharing the credit that needs to be shared.
