SOME POINTS TO REMEMBER ABOUT TEAMS
SOME POINTS TO REMEMBER ABOUT TEAMS: A TEAM'S PERFORMANCE depends to a great extent on the ways in which group members interact their norms. At Google top-performing teams were found to have a strong sense of "psychological safety," otherwise seen as members feeling they "belong." This sense of security reflects a norm of collective self-awareness without critical judgments, one of several El norms found among the highest-performing teams. These team El norms parallel those that typify high-El individuals, but operate at the group level. There are many methods for helping a team upgrade its collective EI. One sign of this: a positive atmosphere for diversity and inclusion.
