Awareness plus observation plus evaluation Plus attaching meaning plus creating assumptions plus judgment Plus conclusions or plus beliefs plus decision equals action. When we reach conclusions we have a tendency to reinforce our beliefs which then influences are facts that we see from our observations the next time around. Therefore it is critical to examine assumptions. Before reaching conclusions. If we maintain a high level of self-awareness and social awareness then we will be more accurate in our observations and down the line.

In the book
A few simple habits sharpen all of this. Examine your assumptions before you reach a conclusion, because a single buried bad one quietly poisons the whole chain of belief you decide from. Keep a couple of thinking tools on the shelf: break a problem down to its irreducible parts, or ask what you most want to avoid, or trace the consequences of the consequences. — Decisions & Choices (Decision/Choice/Focus/Forethought/Consequences)
