G email 4/21/23 :Life is full of trials, challenges, and a balance or imbalance of good and bad things. No one in life goes through life with only great things happening to them. Each trial and challenge creates a risk and an opportunity. Choices you make and the steps you take will dictate, maybe not 100%, but will significantly the results of the choices that you make. While other people are factors can try to throw your choices off track, if you believe in the correctness of your choices, you will ultimately succeed.

In the book
There is no avoiding it. No one flies a whole life through smooth air; every life is full of trials and challenges, a balance and imbalance of good and bad, and no one passes through with only good things happening to them. Every pilot, sooner or later, meets the engine that quits on takeoff, the approach that has to be waved off, the landing that becomes a go-around. […] Open the black box, learn the lesson, repair what you can, and climb back into the air. Remember that every trial is also an opportunity, and that your choices, more than the trial itself, will decide which one it becomes. And remember, when you are on the pavement, that it is the getting up — not the falling — that the people who love you will remember, and that you yourself will be proud of. — Failure & Resilience (Challenge/Failure/Perseverance/Accountability/Flexibility/Resilience)
