Page 110 the dance of insight model tells you how to actually make these ahas of insight happen. The dance of insight is a way of keeping people fully engaged with you in the delegate dance of making new connections. The dance of insight is in four parts. It starts with the concept of establishing permission, then there are three elements that go in a circular pattern: placement, questioning and clarifying. Permission means asking people if they are willing to talk about an issue before launching in to the conversations. It is like asking for permission to cross a boundary. Placement is letting you know where we've been, where we are, and where were going. Which means that you need to be explicit about what's being discussed by setting the scene and where you're coming from and what your goal for the conversation is what you would like them to do in the conversation how you would like them to listen, what's going to happen in the conversation what you're looking to achieve from the dialogue. The next item in the dance of insight is questions You have to learn to ask powerful questions which will cause people to start thinking and reflecting about what they can do to gain that insight. You can ask questions to get more details or what actions they think should be done. And the last item is clarifying. Once we have permission for a conversation, placed the other person, and ask a thinking question, we then clarify the answer to our question. When we clarify we get to the bottom line the conversation. We voiced the essence of what's being said.
