That one is the set up
That one is the set up. As its name and sizes, the first act of a screen set up the story, introduces and establishes characters, launches the stories central promise, illustrates the world in which the characters live, and create relationships between the main character and the others who inhabit their world. The first few minutes of act one are critical, not only in movies, but in business presentation. The opening scene must hook your audience, enticing them to pay attention for the rest of the story.
