Keyword thought there are two types of thought processes type 1 is effortless or spontaneous thinking which includes intuition, emotions, implicit learning, reduced latent inhibition, cognitive shortcuts for heuristics, automatic associations, and evolutionary evolved instincts. Type 2 processes on the other hand are more effortful and controlled and are more like intelligence. These include reflection, rationality, metaphorical and analogical thought, causing the fact reasoning, reality monitoring, metacognition and executive functioning. The more abstract we are with our thinking process and our connection our memories the more skilled and sophisticated are creative thinking will be.
