There is all or nothing where everything is bad, there's over generalizing where this always happens to me There is a mental filter where I filter out the good stuff, there's disqualifying the positive which is rationalizing why good experiences don't count. There's catastrophizing which is how it's totally ruined, there's labeling or mislabeling which says that I am bad or evil, there's jumping to conclusions which is making assumptions, there is emotional reasoning which is I feel it so it's true, there's personalizing which is concluding that a negative occurrence was my fault and there should statements which are I should have done that or I should have done that. The The common thread throughout all of these that they are fear-based thinking patterns that motivating something called compensation thoughts. A compensation thought is what happens after you experience a subconscious fear belief. They are emotions or axes to try to compensate for and ultimately fix the problem you are afraid of and think you have. They sound like judgment blame defense, and attempt to perfect please or perform, a need to retreat hide or numb.
